Saline Area Social Service Adopt-a-Family

SASC has adopted a few families for the holidays. If you would like to donate a cash donation, we will purchase gift cards for Social Service to use as needed for families, due Dec 4. Thank you for your support of the community!

50/50 Raffle

We are currently at $1,834 for the prize winnings, which means we have raised the same amount for scholarships. If you would like to purchase more tickets, please stop in at the front desk or buy online at salineseniors.org. Thank you for your support! Thank you to Cindy Sobotta, Kathy Lawless, Marley Pagel, Julia Waits, Ruth Frayer, Eva Benevento, and Lelaina MacDonald for volunteering with selling tickets, set up, and clean up at the Saline Craft Show!

On Monday, November 13, SASC had the pleasure of hosting a Veterans Day Celebration, recognizing our member and community Veterans. Saline New Horizons Band performed for the group, Mayor Brian Marl acted as emcee, and everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Saline American Legion Post 322. We also enjoyed two speakers, one from the Washtenaw County Department of Veterans Affairs and another from Fisher House Michigan. Thank you to all who made this event possible, it is our honor to recognize our veterans each year.

Pysanky, also known as Ukrainian Easter Eggs, are created year round with different designs and themes. In this class you will make 2 to 3 eggs for the holidays. All materials included. Register online or at the front desk.

Have you been interested in trying out watercolors but don’t know how to get started? Katherine will show you the basics in this one-time class. You may bring any materials you may have, but it is not necessary for this class. Register by Nov 27. Register online or at the front desk.

Have you heard about the fun our SASC Pickleball group has been having but have been hesitant to join because you don’t know how to play? Or are you currently playing Pickleball but want to brush up on the rules and skills to improve your game? Our member volunteer Paul Backlas and several other players are here to help!. The goal will be to teach the game, including the rules, techniques, and tips to make you feel comfortable playing in a group setting. This will be held at Liberty School. Register at the front desk or online.

SASC is a collection point for the Michigan Foster Care Closet's Holiday Toy and Gift Drive. Between now and Dec 5 you can drop off new and unwrapped toys and gifts that are appropriate for children ages 0-18. For questions, please email info@michiganfostercarecloset.org.
