WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz...but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another woman, born with emerald green skin and smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships... until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” Show begins at 6:30pm, return by 10:30-11pm.

We are continuing to take donations for our fundraiser until Friday, April 21. Thank you for your contributions! In this presentation, you will learn about ways to enhance your decision-making when considering assisted living care in Michigan. It can be a complicated and emotional decision that includes many factors such as the “right fit” to address needs, finances, and more. This talk will discuss types of licensed assisted living care in MI, resources on how to compare the differences, sources to learn about state regulations and violations, and access to a guide that provides steps to take if problems occur.
American Mah Jong utilizes racks to hold each player's tiles, jokers, and "Hands and Rules" score cards and is similar to Rummy. This game can keep your mind sharp! We will have cards available for you to purchase with your registration. Currently there are 3 spaces remaining.
Have you ever wanted to show members of your family your ancestral tree and teach them about their family history? After this class, you will be able to create a family tree and learn where and how to search for records online. Carol Torssell has over 35 years of genealogy experience and has discovered ancestors back to the 1600’s in the U.S., Poland, and Germany and she looks forward to answering your questions. Bring a notebook along with your parents’ vital information (and grandparents too if you have info) to get started!
Carol Torssell is available for individual Genealogy Appointments for you to receive one-on-one time to explore Ancestry.com and other sites, and build your tree and leaves. Be sure to bring any information you have already compiled. Appointments will take place at SASC. You may bring your laptop or use Carol’s to access several sites. Call the front desk for an appointment and we will send you an invoice via email for you to pay, or register at the front desk. Carol will have availability Mon-Wed for 90 minute appointments, 11am or 1pm, in May and will call you ahead of time with any questions.
Members made their own mosaic birdhouse on Tuesday. Great job ladies! The next class is in June.
Katherine Downie lead students in the Pysankyclass. We'll plan to hold it again this fall.
A message from Superintendent Laatsch:
SAS Community,
I am asking you to vote in the upcoming May 2nd election. Saline Area Schools will be on the ballot for an operating millage renewal. This is not a BOND, it is a 10 year millage renewal proposal that is part of the normal, day-to-day, funding structure for all Michigan School Districts.
If you only own one home, you would NOT pay this millage. It would be paid by second home owners, businesses and all other non-principal residence property owners.
It would help SAS continue to generate a little over $8.5 million dollars for the GENERAL OPERATING budget (the budget that helps pay for teachers and other staff members) on an annual basis for the next 10 years.
If you have more questions about this operating millage proposal, please go to www.salineschools.org and you can click on the pop-up button “Millage Renewal 2023.”
Please click HERE for more details about the SAS Millage Renewal.
For questions, feedback, or concerns….please click HERE and fill out the form.
Again, Please vote on May 2nd.
Thank you,
Superintendent Laatsch
