Volunteer Opportunities Would you be interested in serving on a committee to help plan our annual Veterans' Day Celebration? Andrea is looking for a few volunteers who would help plan a great program for our SASC Member Veterans. Responsibilities would include helping to find a speaker or presentation, help plan the lunch and any other programs that could take place at our annual event. Volunteers receive a free pass into the fair for the day (Friday, September 1) and will work a 2 hour shift at a table in one of the covered buildings. Volunteers will sell raffle tickets, pass out newsletters and answer basic questions about SASC. Please let Andrea know if you are interested or have more questions.      The Sep/Oct newsletter is now available online here . Road Construction Update Maple Rd. from Michigan Ave. to Saline District Library will be closed due to the City of Saline's Eastbelt project through December. It will be best to access SASC off Thibault Drive from Saline-Ann Arbor Rd for the duration.  NOTE: This construction will impact bussing routes once school resumes on Aug 28. We will see increased traffic and a different traffic flow at drop-off time (before SASC opens) and dismissal time, which will impact SASC and the Middle School from about 2:40-3:10pm on a daily basis. During this timeframe you will see buses parked along the side of the SASC parking lot, near the Middle School, to pick up students after school. The Middle School dismissal time is 2:54pm on full days,11:20am on half days, and 12:20pm on early release days. Once dismissed, students will walk to the buses in the SASC parking lot area. Open to any senior, regardless of residency or membership status. We are continuing to take registrations for the Detroit Tigers game on Wednesday, August 23. This interleague game against the Cubs is sure to be fun. Cost is $79 and includes your ticket, discounted food, and transportation on a charter bus. You'll depart from SASC at 11:15am and return about 5:30pm. This trip is in cooperation with Pittsfield Senior Center. You can register online  here  or at the front desk.
